Sen. John Lambert (1747-1823) lived just two miles north of Lambertville, but exactly where has been a matter of confusion. There are too many John Lamberts and Gershom Lamberts, all of them living in the same neighborhood. Sorting them out has been a fascinating challenge, but now I am certain of just where Sen.
