Meet Us at the Fair!

Join the Hunterdon County Historical Society at the 4-H & Agricultural Fair starting today,  Wednesday, August 20 and running through through Sunday, August 24. The fair is open Wednesday through Friday from noon to 10 p.m. and on the weekend from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the South County Park off Route 179 in Ringoes.

Visit us in the community services tent located between the antique tractors and the pig races where we’ll have a selection of artifacts from our collection, photographs and more.

Help us identify a few homes photographed in the early 1900s by Asher Stryker, and enter our annual contest to win a sweet prize: either a copy of the third reprint of the 1873 Beers Atlas or Rick Epstein’s book Frenchtown: Floods, Fires, Fads & Felonies. We’ll have Native American artifacts, samples from Flemington’s original wood water pipes, and other fabulous local items from our collections. Learn about our History Challenge Contest for student

Curious about your Hunterdon County family? We will have our surname file list, Bible and family record list, our bound manuscript collection list, newsletter article list, surname book list and more.

So, grab yourself some funnel cake or a corn dog and we’ll see you at the fair!
