Goodspeed Histories: Sutton Farms Part II
I have just published part two of my history of the Sutton farm in Delaware Township. This article deals with the many owners who came after the last of the Sutton family departed (both his farm and his life) in 1879. It was fun researching these people. Many of them seemed to be total strangers, but ended up being related. I was also surprised to find how often the properties were sold to women. Turns out their husbands were unable to buy land in their own name, usually for financial reasons. Hope you enjoy:
